Objectives of the Regional Secretariats

The General Secretariat is supported by Regional Secretariats, which are groupings of Members formed on the basis of cultural, linguistic or geographical affinities and who share common concerns and needs. In addition to supporting the implementation of the activities of the OWHC Action Plan, the activities of the Regional Secretariats aim to :

The Regional Secretariats are located in the following member cities, elected by their regional network every four (4) years during Regional Meetings that take place during the World Congresses:

Membership Form for Cities to Regional Secretariats

A city in good standing may join a Regional Secretariat in order to facilitate decision-making regarding the administrative management and activities of the Regional Secretariats. The conditions for membership are as follows:

• A member city may only join one (1) of the five Regional Secretariats
• The duration of membership is unlimited (the city may change its membership at any time)
• Membership is decisive for votes and decisions taken at regional meetings (only cities that have formally joined a Regional Secretariat will be entitled to vote).

All member cities in good standing may also participate in the activities of another Regional Secretariat, if invited to do so and under any specific conditions that may be set by the Regional Secretariats responsible for the activities in question.
