On 17 December 1994 the old town of Quedlinburg was inscribed on the UNESCO’s World Heritage List. Quedlinburg is an outstanding example of a European city with a medieval ground plan, which is still visible today. Moreover 2000 timber-framed buildings of exceptional quality characterize the cityscape.

It lasted several years to prepare a management plan, but recently it was finished specifying the hazards and the development opportunities that have to be considered.
