To apply for the Loyalty Reward Program, simply send a request via a letter signed by your mayor, indicating his or her attendance (or absence, and, if applicable, his or her official representative), as well as the composition of the delegation, to the General Secretariat’s email address: [email protected]

The deadline to apply is September 18, 2026.

 

Before submitting my official application, can I request a simulation of the amount my city would be eligible for based on different compositions of my city’s delegation?

Yes, you can send an email to Andréanne Charest ([email protected] ) with your different hypothesis, and she will be able to run the various simulations for you.

 

How long does it take to receive a response to a grant request?

The response time is 1 to 3 business days, unless the person in charge of the program is on vacation (you will be notified if this is the case).

 

Registration

I am a member in good standing of the OWHC. Do I have to pay the registration fee?

Yes, all participants must pay the congress registration fee of 500 euros, which includes access to all sessions, simultaneous interpretation, lunches, coffee breaks, dinners, cultural events, and transportation during the official dates of the event.

If your city wishes to apply for the OWHC Loyalty Reward Program, it may receive a certain amount of money to which member cities in good standing are entitled upon request. This amount can be used to cover one or more registration fees, one or more accommodations, or international transportation (see above).

 

What is the registration deadline?

The registration deadline is October 9, 2026.

 

Is there a program or registration option for spouses?

There is no specific program organized for spouses. However, a tourist information booth will be set up at the Congress Center, and participants can also contact the hotel concierge to arrange sightseeing tours.

Spouses may register as accompanying guests for 250 euros. This registration includes access to evening events and dinners, as well as the sightseeing tour organized as part of the congress and local transfers. Contact the General Secretariat for details ([email protected] ).

 

I am a student, an international expert, or I come from a member city of the Organization, but I do not work for a municipality or for an entity or institution responsible for managing World Heritage sites linked to a municipality in a member city. Can I participate in the World Congress?

The World Congress is organized first and foremost for members of the Organization. Invitations are sent to mayors, elected officials, and experts/technicians from the municipalities of member cities. Anyone outside the municipalities must contact the OWHC General Secretariat ([email protected]) if they wish to participate, and indicate under what authority and with what expertise they wish to attend.

If you complete a registration via the official congress website at under the “member” category, your registration may be rejected and refunded.

 

I need a personalized invitation letter to have my participation in the congress approved by my authorities. Where can I get one?

Send us a request for a personalized letter at [email protected], clearly indicating the name(s) of the person(s) concerned as well as their positions, and we will send you the signed PDF letters via return email.

 

Where can I find the congress program, and when will the final program be published?

The preliminary congress program is available on the OWHC website as well as on the official World Congress website.

The final program will be published around mid-September.

 

What will be the official languages of the congress?

The official languages of the Congress are French, English, Spanish, and Arabic. These four languages will be interpreted during the General Assembly and Symposium sessions, as well as during the Opening Ceremony.

The Symposium’s official exhibition will be presented in English, French, and Spanish.

 

Who should represent my city at the congress and the General Assembly? Is this representation transferable? 

The city (the mayor) decides who will be the city’s official representative. However, please note that for the General Assembly and for the purpose of exercising the right to vote, the following rule applies (Article 24 of the General By-laws):

  1. Representation

Each member in good standing is represented by the Mayor or an elected representative from his municipality or in exceptional cases by a non-elected representative from his municipal administration, duly appointed by the Mayor.

What are the official hotels for the 18th World Congress, and how do I make a reservation?

Important: Shuttle service will only be provided from the official hotel to the congress venues.

 

How many delegates per city can attend the 18th World Congress?

There is no limit on the number of participants per city.

 

My city would like to apply to become a member of the Board of Directors or to host the 19th World Congress. Where can I find information about this and submit an application?
