Marrakech 2026: Discover the Preliminary Program for the Congress
Preparations for the 18th World Congress of the OWHC, to be held in Marrakech (Morocco) from October 26 to 29, 2026, are well underway. This major event, with the theme “The New Urban Process: Toward the Habitability of Historic Centers,” will bring together OWHC member cities to continue the discussions initiated at the Quebec City congress and further developed in Córdoba.
We invite you to consult the preliminary Congress program, which outlines the key moments of this international gathering, including the main highlights of the Symposium, as well as the institutional and cultural events that will punctuate the week.

A dynamic program to adopt the New Urban Process
At the heart of the Congress, the Symposium will lead members to take a new step in the OWHC’s collective process: the adoption of the New Urban Process, designed to support cities in improving the habitability of their historic centers.
The Congress will also offer numerous opportunities for dialogue among mayors, elected officials, decision-makers, and professionals: panel, workshops, bilateral meetings, peer-to-peer exchanges, and opportunities for cooperation.
To fully understand the various opportunities the Congress will offer, as well as the connection between the Symposium sessions and those of the General Assembly, please consult this explanatory document:
