Brussels Hosts a Key Milestone in the Development of the New Urban Project

On March 16 and 17, 2026, the City of Brussels hosted the second meeting of the Steering Committee for the OWHC’s New Urban Project (NUP).

As work continues to finalize the form and content of the NUP, the Committee’s mandate is to determine the details of the proposal that will be submitted to members at the 18th OWHC World Congress (Marrakech, October 26–29, 2026).

To formulate its opinions and recommendations, the Committee draws primarily on the political and operational developments led by the Organization and on the collective work of the Québec Roadmap and the Cordoba Path, carried out since 2022.

The 12 members of the Steering Committee (representing the cities of Bordeaux, Brugge, Brussels, Colonia del Sacramento, Cuenca, Luxembourg, Quebec City, Regensburg, St. Louis, San Antonio, and Warsaw), supported by the Advisory Board, have formulated practical recommendations in a spirit of co-creation. The NUP’s proposal will be enriched by these contributions. The revised summary will be used during regional meetings dedicated to “perception tests” to be organized in the coming months.
