Lamu Meeting Report: A Shared Path for Sub-Saharan World Heritage Cities
We are pleased to share the report of the OWHC Lamu Meeting, held in Lamu, Kenya, from 1 to 3 December.
The report highlights the key discussions and outcomes of this meeting, which brought together mayors and senior officials from seven cities. It sheds light on the challenges faced by Sub-Saharan World Heritage cities and their active contribution to the New Urban Project (NUP).
The meeting also launched the Lamu Group, a lasting platform for dialogue that strengthens the OWHC’s presence in the Sub-Saharan region and supports collective action based on a shared approach to habitability, in view of the 2026 World Congress.
We invite you to consult and share the report.
