Call for Projects

The deadline for application is January 11, 2019

About the OWHC

As an international non-profit non-governmental organization, the Organization of World Heritage Cities (OWHC) was created to assist member cities to adapt and improve their management methods in relation to the specific requirements of having a site inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Objectives

The aim of this call is to identify relevant projects implemented in the member cities of the OWHC in order to present them at the 15th World Congress Symposium. The selected projects will be integrated into the various sessions dedicated to the theme “Heritage and Tourism: Local Communities and Visitors – Sharing Responsibilities”, to allow exchanges among the participants of the Congress.

Eligibility

The participating city must be a member city in good standing of the OWHC for the past three (3) years or more (including 2019). A city whose inscription on the World Heritage List as well as membership with the OWHC is less than three (3) years old, is also eligible if it has always paid its annual fees since joining the organization.

The proposed project must have been implemented within the last five (5) years or be an ongoing project.

The proposals will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee of the 15th World Congress of the OWHC.

The OWHC will pay the accommodation and registration fees (these including meals provided as part of the World Congress) for the selected candidates.

Application procedure

The participants should apply through the online form available below. In this form, applicants will be asked to provide personal information and explain their involvement in the project.
