Since Philadelphia became a World Heritage City in 2015, Global Philadelphia Association's mission has been to build awareness of the city's unique cultural and historical assets and to create opportunities for local people and visitors to engage with this heritage and feel a sense of ownership. Welcome America is an annual festival with over 50 free multicultural events across Philadelphia, building up to US Independence Day on July 4th. The festival presents a unique opportunity for the local community to be actively involved in presenting Philadelphia's heritage to visitors from the United States and around the world.
