The Organization of World Heritage Cities is proud of its project, the “On the Way to Oaxaca” workshop. This activity will be held on June 4-5-6 2013 in Cordoba, Spain, on the theme of heritage management in relation to sustainable development.
The holding of this event is very important to our organization because the “On the Way to Oaxaca” workshop precedes and contributes to the preparation of the XII World Congress of the OWHC to be held in Oaxaca de Juarez, Mexico from 19 to 22 November 2013. This workshop will therefore permit members of the OWHC to share their expertise and exchange information on this theme which is directly linked to that of the next OWHC World Congress “Heritage Cities, Sustainable Cities”.
The OWHC could not be more proud of this initiative for which it will cover the cost of travel and accommodation for one person per city selected by our scientific committee to present his/her project. Those cities are:
- Andong, South Korea
- Aranjuez, Spain
- Bamberg, Germany
- Cordoba, Spain
- Evora, Portugal
- La Havana, Cuba
- Luxembourg, Luxembourg
- Oaxaca, Mexico
- Québec City, Canada
- Regensburg, Germany
- Strasbourg, France
- Tallinn, Estonia
- Warsaw, Poland
''On the way to Oaxaca'' is a response to the engagements taken in the Sintra Contribution. At its term, the workshop could even become a OWHC's regular program.
